Hi, my name is Chef Ashley D.
When I first started my Vegetarian journey in 2013, I didn’t have many resources that catered to my style of cooking or food tastes. I did a lot of research, created a lot of recipes of my own, and found ways to navigate a menu at a restaurant to still be able to eat and be satisfied. You may ask, why did I choose this food lifestyle? I decided to give up meat for Lent as a personal challenge and I ended up sticking with it. It was one of the best things I did for my life! Since that day, I’ve been able to lose and maintain my weight, I feel better inside and out, and you truly learn your body. This is truly a lifestyle change, but it doesn’t have to be daunting as people make it seem. Eating healthy can be good and your food can have flavor too.
Eventually, I went on to do greater things with cooking and embracing food. I started my culinary school journey, hosted cooking demonstrations to educate and inform the community on how to cook plant based recipes in the comfort or your own home, and I’ve embarked on meal prepping for customers.
My goal is to continue to grow with your help and give our community more access and ideas on living the veggie life.
